The year 2022 arrives, and we’re expecting huge things from upcoming smartphones in the coming 12 months.
There’s already a lot to get enthusiastic about. the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE is due to hit stores, the OnePlus 10 Pro has been teased, and the Xiaomi 12 has already gone on sale in China ahead of a global release later this year. That’s not even taking into account Huawei, Honor, and Oppo’s new foldable.
the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, which will also power flagships like the Oppo Find X4 Pro and Samsung Galaxy S22, is found in several of these phones.
The Snapdragon will face competition from the MediaTek Dimensity 9000, which has matched its opponent on specs for the first time – how many cores does it have? How many major brands will abandon Snapdragon for their most important 2022 releases? We’ll be back in time for the iPhone 14 and Pixel 7, as well as software upgrades like Android 13 and iOS 16, before long.
Read on to avoid regretting your next smartphone purchase and being locked into an unreasonably long contract.
here are the most anticipated upcoming smartphones of 2022
Huawei P60 Pro

The Huawei P50 Pro was an unusual phone when it was released earlier this year. It was a photography powerhouse, with a quartet of powerful cameras boasting plenty of megapixels —
including a periscope lens with a fantastic 200x digital zoom. The problem was that due to persistent trade restrictions, the flagship was never able to leave China.
Is its successor likely to do any better? Only time will tell if this is true. In the middle of 2022, the Huawei P60 Pro and Pro Plus are likely to be released. Based on the evolution of previous Pro smartphones, the P60 Pro will most likely include a powerful camera system as well as a large full-screen experience.
However, little is known about the P60 Pro’s exact specifications, let alone whether it will ever be released.
2. Oppo Peacock

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3, Microsoft Surface Duo 2, and other foldable were released in 2021, making it a good year for them. However, the folding smartphone’s long-term fate remains unknown. Is it possible for an upcoming smartphones Peacock to affect the game? Oppo appears to be hoping so.
Oppo is no stranger to bending screens (see the Oppo X concept), and leaked specifications suggest that the company’s next gadget will be powered by a Snapdragon 888 processor and have an 8-inch folding display with a 2K resolution. There isn’t much else known about this prospective foldable entrant, but it’s intriguing to see another manufacturer getting ready to flex.
According to some sources, the Oppo Peacock – which is most likely a working title rather than the phone’s official name – might be released as early as December 2021. However, with so much speculation circulating, we’ll have to wait and see when the Peacock arrives.
3. Xiaomi 12 Series

In December, Xiaomi unveiled the upcoming smartphones Xiaomi 12 series in China, with a global release expected in early 2022.
The main phone is a 6.28-inch device featuring a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor and a strong triple camera, as well as super-fast charging.
The larger 12 Pro boasts a superior camera system and faster-charging speeds, while the 12X is the same size as the 12 but has an older Snapdragon 870 and no wireless charging.

4. OnePlus 10 Pro

The new generation of OnePlus flagships will be released on January 11th, but only in China, and for the time being, we’ll only be seeing the Pro model.
The design of the top-tier 10 Pro, which boasts a creative new camera design, has already been disclosed by OnePlus. We also know it will use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, but sources claim that aside from an increased battery, there aren’t many other significant changes.

5. Google Pixel 7

We don’t know much about the upcoming smartphones Google Pixel 7, but we’re convinced it’s coming – even if it won’t be available until October 2022.
We might not see as many changes this time after Google’s enormous redesign of the Pixel 6 lineup, but the Pixel 6 re-energized the lineup and got us enthused about it again. We’ll take the Google Pixel 7 even if it’s just a more polished version of that.
Unsurprisingly, early leaks hint at a successor to Google’s Tensor processor, as well as the Pixel 7’s cameras being similar to those of the Pixel 6. There’s also a chance that in 2022, we’ll just see one model, so there won’t be a Google Pixel 7 Pro.

6. Iphone 14 Series

Although it’s an obvious choice, the iPhone 14 and its siblings are the most anticipated phones of 2022, so we couldn’t leave them out.
That excitement is justified, since the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max are expected to feature completely new designs, with no notch and a punch-hole camera instead.
We’ve also heard rumors about a new model called the iPhone 14 Max, which would be a base iPhone with a large 6.7-inch screen that would replace the iPhone 14 small.
Leaks also suggest significant camera enhancements, with 48MP sensors on the cards (up from 12MP on current models), and given that these are iPhones, they’ll almost certainly have a lot of power.

7. Oppo Find X4

The next Oppo Find X4 and its Pro brother are a more certain arrival. The new flagship is expected to arrive in a variety of forms, with an official release date set for the first quarter of 2022. If the Find X3 family is any indication, there will be a low-cost Lite model, a mid-range Neo model, and a high-end Pro model.
Indeed, Oppo has revealed that the upcoming Find X4 Pro will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 engine. The Find X3 Pro was a five-star smartphone with flagship-level performance, design, and specifications. If the Find X4 Pro follows in its footsteps (which seems quite plausible considering the new Snapdragon chip’s purported potential), it might have Apple and Samsung on its tails.
8. Iphone Se Plus 2022

As soon as the 2020 iPhone SE was introduced, rumors about a larger model began to circulate. Given that the upcoming smartphone iPhone SE essentially replaces the iPhone 8, some are wondering if a Plus model will be released to fill the iPhone 8 Plus void. Will Apple fill this cheap-but-large gap with the upcoming iPhone 12 small, which costs substantially more than the SE?
9. Nokia X50

Although there have been numerous rumors about a Nokia 9 PureView successor, the trail appears to have gone cold, leading to speculation that Nokia may instead release a Nokia 8.3 replacement with five cameras, potentially dubbed the upcoming smartphones Nokia X50. This device could include a 6.5-inch display, Snapdragon 700 series processors, and a 108-megapixel primary camera. The launch is now scheduled for 2022.

10. Samsung Galaxy S22 family

The Samsung Galaxy S22 series of smartphones, which includes the S22, S22 Plus, and S22 Ultra, is set to debut in January 2022, with sizes ranging from 6-inches to 6.81-inches. The main camera on the Ultra will be 108MP with 12x optical zoom, while the lesser phones will have a 50MP main camera. The Exynos 2200 with AMD GPU may also be available for these devices.
