The much-anticipated Realme GT Neo 3 has made its Chinese debut, becoming the first phone on the market to have incredibly fast 150W fast charging.
Realme was eager to trumpet about the Neo 3’s headlining feature during the international introduction of the company’s GT 2 series flagship phones during MWC 2022, but didn’t divulge much else, seeding morsels about its design and extra hardware over the following weeks.
However, the phone has finally arrived in all of its grandeur, completing the picture that Realme began to paint in February. Everything you need to know about the Realme GT Neo 3 is right here.
The smartphone’s official launch date in India has already been revealed. On April 29, the smartphone will arrive in India. It will be the successor to the Realme GT Neo 2 5G, which was released in October 2022 in India.
Several reports have claimed that the smartphone featured on the official Realme India website in the past. The smartphone could come in two versions, with model numbers RMX3560 and RMX3562. The other model number, according to rumours, is for the gaming edition.
Realme GT Neo 3 5G India release date and price
In China, the Realme GT Neo 3 5G recently made its debut. It gave us a good notion of what to expect in terms of features and pricing. One thing to keep in mind is that the smartphone comes in two different charging capacities.
According to recent sources, Realme would not release the GT Neo 3 6GB RAM edition in India. The 8GB RAM edition of the smartphone with 128GB storage is priced at CNY 2,299, starting with the 80W charging support variant (approximately Rs 27,500).
The smartphone’s high-end model, with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, costs CNY 2,599 (about Rs 31,100).
CNY 2,599 gets you the 150W model of the Realme GT Neo 3 5G with 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage (roughly Rs 31,100). The smartphone’s top-of-the-line variant, with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, costs CNY 2,799 in China (approximately Rs 31,100). Sprint White, Asphalt Black, and Nitro Blue are the three colour options for the Chinese version of the smartphone.
It’s safe to predict that the smartphone will be priced between Rs 25,000 and Rs 35,000. Furthermore, as shown with the Xiaomi 11i and Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge, the two varieties of the smartphone can be released under somewhat different names.
What are the features of the Realme GT Neo 3?
Realme originally mentioned the GT Neo 3 at the European launch of the GT 2 series, but didn’t display any images of the phone, instead opting for a single physical demo at their stand with developmental hardware demonstrating the phone’s upcoming characteristic 150W ‘UltraDart’ charging.
A day later, the company stated that the Neo 3 would be powered by MediaTek’s recently announced Dimensity 8100 chipset. While the Dimensity 9000 is MediaTek’s answer to the top-tier Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, the 8000 series (which currently includes the Dimensity 8000 and 8100) runs on a slightly larger 5nm die with an octa-core configuration of four Cortex-A78 big cores and four Cortex-A55 small cores, as well as a Mali-G610 MC6, which is based on the Mali-G610 GPU.
The phone’s colorways, like the series’ namesake, are inspired by automobiles, with Le Mans blue and Silverstone white both featuring a twin racing stripe design in contrasting white and black, respectively.
Here’s the confirmed spec sheet from Realme’s own Chinese site:
- 6.7in 120Hz Full HD+ AMOLED display
- 1000Hz touch sampling rate
- HDR10+ support
- MediaTek Dimensity 8100 chipset
- Dedicated GPU
- Stainless steel + copper vapour chamber cooling
- 6/8/12GB RAM (LPDDR5)
- 128/256GB storage (UFS 3.1)
50Mp main f/1.8 Sony IMX766 sensor w/ OIS
8Mp 119° ultrawide
2Mp 4cm macro
16Mp front-facing camera
- Stereo speakers
- 4500/5000mAh battery
- 80/150W UltraDart fast charging
- Colours: Le Mans (blue), Silverstone (white), black
According to the figures, the GT Neo 3 uses the same camera configuration as the basic Realme GT 2 , which includes the popular 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor used by Realme, OnePlus, Oppo, and others.
There’s also reportedly a secondary chipset powering the Dimensity 8100, or more particularly, its Mali-G610 MC6 GPU, to maintain a steady 120 frames per second and, in some cases, increased power efficiency.
The GT Neo 3 is also the official phone for the Honor of Kings national competition in China, as noted by GSMArena. This function, which appears to be independent of the phone’s GT Mode 3.0, has been optimised to operate with chosen games (more than 20 at launch).
As previously mentioned, the phone’s all-important 150W ‘UltraDart’ fast charging is paired with a dual-cell 4500mAh battery that Realme claims can last 1600 charge cycles with 80% battery health intact, far exceeding the industry standard and especially impressive for a phone that charges so quickly.
Realme GT Neo 3: Design and Display
Realme continues to explore with the design of the GT series. The same is true of the Realme GT Neo 3 5G. The smartphone’s back panel features two stripes directly below the camera island, as well as Realme branding and the motto “Dare To Leap” in the middle.
The smartphone’s rectangular camera module is located in the phone’s upper left corner. One large sensor, two small sensors, and a flash are among the three sensors.
The smartphone’s front panel includes low bezels and a punch hole cutout in the top middle for the front snapper’s location.
The power button is on the device’s right spine, while the volume rockers are on the left. At the bottom edge, we can see the speaker grille and USB Type-C port.
The 6.7-inch AMOLED display on the Realme GT Neo 3 5G supports DC dimming. The smartphone has a 120Hz refresh rate, which allows demanding games with high frame rates to operate smoothly.
It also features a 1000 touch sampling rate and HDR10+ compatibility. The device similarly has a resolution of 1080×2412 pixels.
Realme GT Neo 3 5G: Camera and battery
The Realme GT Neo 3 5G comes with a triple back camera system that includes a 50MP Sony IMX766 main sensor, as well as optical and electronic image stabilisation (EIS).
An 8MP ultra wide-angle shooter with a 119-degree field of view and a 2MP macro shooter are the other two sensors.
The smartphone’s rear camera has several modes, including 4K video recording, night mode, portrait mode, and Pro mode. The phone has a 16-megapixel front-facing camera for taking pictures and video calls.
The Realme GT Neo 3 5G is powered by a 5000mAh battery that may last for up to a day, even with heavy use. There will be two versions of the smartphone, one with 80W fast charging support and the other with 150W fast charging support. According to the business, the 150W charging model can charge up to 50% in just five minutes.
