Netflix has been releasing some of the top South Korean dramas in the last few of years. From Squid Game to D.P to the upcoming Twenty Five Twenty One, the streaming behemoth has consistently delivered quality K-dramas in a variety of genres, including comedies, thrillers, and, of course, romance. The zombie thriller All of Us Are Dead ( ) is the most recent addition to Netflix’s K-drama lineup.
All of Us Are Dead, starring Park Jihu and Yoon Chanyoung, launched on Netflix on January 28 and swiftly rose to the top of the Global Top 10 list. According to Variety, the series’ debut week had 124.79 million hours of viewing, making it the most-watched opening week for a South Korean title since Netflix’s public Top 10 started last year. Fans who have already finished the series are naturally searching Google for All of Us Are Dead season 2 updates. If that’s the case, here’s all you need to know about the show and its possible comeback.
What is All of Us Are Dead About?
All of Us Are Dead follows a group of Hyosan High School students as they strive to stay alive after a zombie virus sweeps over the school and its environs. The series is based on Joo Donggeun’s Webtoon digital comic Now at Our School (same as the Korean title for the series), which was originally released in 2009.
At first glance, All of Us Are Dead appears to be your normal zombie apocalypse thriller with coming-of-age aspects thrown in for good measure, but the series is really packed with cultural references and topical allegories.
What is the total number of episodes in All of Us Are Dead?
All of Us Are Dead now has 12 episodes, each clocking in at little under or over an hour, for a total of 728 minutes. (Believe us when we say that after you’ve watched the first episode, you’ll want to watch the others immediately.)
Who Is in the All of Us Are Dead Cast?
The story revolves around Nam Onjo, portrayed by 18-year-old Park Jihu, and Lee Cheongsan, played by 20-year-old Yoon Chanyoung, her childhood friend, neighbour, and classmate. Cho Yihyun also portrays Choi Namra, a model student and class president, while Park Solomon (commonly known as Lomon), a South Korean-Uzbek actor, plays Lee Suhyeok.
Yoon Gwinam, played by real-life girlfriend Yoo Insoo, is the major adversary of the series (apart from, you know, the virus itself). Lee Nayeon is played by Lee Yoomi, who you may know from Squid Game. Im Jaehyuk as Yang Daesu, Lee Eunsaem as Park Mijin, Ham Sungmin as Han Gyeongsu (aka Chaongsan’s BFF), Kim Jooah as Yoon Isak (aka Onjo’s BFF), Son Sangyeon and Ha Seungri as brothers Jang Woojin and Jang Hari, and Son Sangyeon and Ha Seungri as siblings Jang Woojin and Jan
Will All of Us Are Dead get a second season?
If you’ve seen All of Us Are Dead, you’re aware that the series finishes on a cliffhanger when the survivors meet Namra on the school’s rooftop. According to Hypebae, the series’ director, Lee Jaekyu, recently stated, “the script was planned with a second season in mind.” Despite the fact that nothing has been verified by Netflix as of yet, he stated that the plan is to continue the plot. “That would be fantastic if we could do a second season,” the director allegedly added, adding that “there would be more intriguing stories if it happened.” For a possible sophomore season, Lee may focus more on “zombie survival ,” which would make sense.
Who Would be cast in Season 2 of All of Us Are Dead?
Unlike Squid Game, it’s tough to predict who would return for a possible second season because, well, dead individuals can turn into zombies. Of course, if season 2 is approved, we may expect all (or at least the majority) of the survivors to return. Of course, all fans have the same question: Is Cheongsan in All of Us Are Dead actually dead? Well, there’s no way to tell for sure. We didn’t witness him transform into a zombie, and we didn’t see his body. We did saw him being blasted by the shock wave from the bomb launched on school grounds by the government, however he barely managed to escape.
Realistically, we shouldn’t get our hopes up, but weirder things have happened in the past. (After all, this is Netflix!) “If Cheongsan were to come back to life, there will be some people who won’t accept the circumstance and those who will appreciate it,” director Lee told Wikitree, adding that he “absolutely” has a plan that he can’t discuss just yet.
All of Us Are Dead season 2 release date
The second season of All of Us is Dead is anticipated to be released late this year (very late this year) or early in 2023, assuming Netflix approves the production in the next few weeks.
After all, because the first episode had every aspect from the comic book on which it was based, the entire season would have to be created from scratch. Filming takes a few months on average, while post-production might take anything from two to six months. Producers can only hope that it will be authorized quickly so that they may begin using it right away.
Plot of Season 2 of All of Us Are Dead
The possible storyline of All Of Us Are Dead’s second season, if and when Netflix decides to continue the programme for another season, is one of the most interesting parts of the show. Season 2’s plot will be exciting for several reasons, one of which is that season 1 finished with a rather open-ended finale.
In season one, the whole city of Hyosan was destroyed in the martial rule leader’s frantic attempt to eradicate all zombies and prevent the virus from spreading to nearby cities. We’ll witness in Season 2 how the whole city of Hyosan was bombarded in the same way. Primary school kids, on the other hand,
The survivors were reunited with On-jo, Su-hyeok, Dae-su, Ha-ri, Mi-jin, and Hyo-ryung four months after being separated at the quarantine facility for the quarantine period. When On-jo realized that there was light on the building’s top, they decided to go back up there.
